The Travelling Pair - Adam & Vicky - About Us
Our story
We are a youngish (lol) couple from Manchester. We met in February 2019 and became friends quickly. Our friendship soon turned into more after we both realised how much we had started to like each other. Since then we have been inseparable from each other. Vicky even made a move up to Manchester to move in with Adam. We’ve been living together since October 2019, and we are now also engaged to be married. We have two main common interests: Travel & Manchester United. As you can imagine, we like to combine the two. Its our passion for travel that has led us to starting our own travel blog called the Travelling Pair. If you’re reading this, you’ve found us and we hope that you enjoy it.
What to Expect from The Travelling Pair
We’ll be sharing our travel adventures with you. But this won’t just be from a couple’s point of view but from the perspective of someone who uses a wheelchair as well. And when it comes to the football trips, it’s also from the viewpoint of someone who likes to do cultural stuff and someone who’d instead rather be sat in a pub in some European country getting a little drunk. Although we haven’t done this yet. She says it’s a waste of our short time we spend in some of these countries. I suppose she is right, but we will hopefully do that one day.
As for what we’ll be sharing on our blog, we’ll be covering all sorts of topics whether that be a blog telling you what we did during our trips, which aren’t just abroad. We also like to go on day trips and weekends away in the UK too. We also plan on taking a few road trips too. They may be in the UK or while in other countries as well.
But we’ll also be sharing planning and booking tips. Well, Vicky will, she’s the expert at that. I just say yes or no depending on what crazy idea she comes up with. Whereas we both love a useful hotel review, especially me if it’s a bad one. So we’ll be sharing these too.
We’ll also be trying to share packing tips with you. I must warn though we’re not quite sure in what form this will take. We’ll probably tell you how we pack and tell you not to do it that way as we can’t pack light. We usually end up with a car full for two days away at the weekend. Vicky will also be sharing some language tips with you for places we visit as she can speak multiple languages and enjoys acting as my translator when abroad.
As you may have guessed, a main part of our blog will be covering how we tackle the accessibility issues that arise from travelling throughout Europe and the world. We’ll be sharing accessibility reviews (both positive and negative) and tips from our experiences travelling the world with a wheelchair. As you can imagine, this can sometimes be a challenge, but it is always fun!
As for what we get up to on our trips, we’ll also be providing tips and reviews on places, attractions and restaurants that we visit which we hope will help you all on your adventures too. We’ll also be doing city guides which will cover a mixture of all the above.
As for the best part of any holiday or trip abroad, we’ll be sharing our airport and airline reviews with you too as well as reviews and tips on transport in foreign countries.
Finally, each year we’ll do both a blog about our yearly travelling goals for the year ahead as well as a review blog at the end of the year to see how we fared up against completing our goals.
And finally, we hope that you enjoy our blogs about our travels and adventures and we hope that we can help and inspire you, our fellow travellers while we’re at it.
