Let’s talk about 2020! So January for us is just a planning month. We try to plan the majority of our trips out and decide where we would like to visit this coming year. You could say we set our travel goals out for the year ahead. And hopefully, make use of some of the January sales to get cheap flights and hotels. So without further ado, these are our travel plans for 2020.
So far, we have three long trips booked. For the first trip to kick the year off in style, we jet-off to Rome in February. The trip will last for just under a week to celebrate my birthday! We love Italy, and this will be our second trip to Italy in three months after our short break in Milan before Christmas! We’ve never visited Rome, so I’m looking forward to researching it for activities & accessibility!
For the second trip, we’re taking a short flight to Portugal in April. Portugal is a new country for Adam and we’ll be there for a week. We are looking very much forward to relaxing in a much warmer climate than here in sunny Manchester!
Our third trip in our travel plans is a staycation in Cornwall in July. I’ve never been to Cornwall, so I’m excited to explore a part of the UK that is new to me. I’ll be relying on local knowledge from Adam who has regularly visited Cornwall every summer as he was growing up. I may even get a few laughs watching Adam trying to surf.
That is it for the long trips that we currently have booked in for the year ahead. But we also have a brief road trip to Brugge planned soon in February. We’re there for a day before we head back to London to catch our flight to Rome. February is a busy month in our travel plans.
Other than that we have nothing else in our plans yet, however, we’re hoping to go to Gothenburg & Madrid this year. In terms of UK breaks we are hoping for a trip to Scotland & potentially to the south-east coast towards Kent as we didn’t get to go last summer!
We may even be able to squeeze a long-haul into our travel plans. This is because we have some of our air-miles that need using before the end of the year. Where that will be too, we don’t know yet. But most likely either the USA, Carribean or South Africa. If we don’t manage to squeeze one of those trips in this year, we’ll definitely have to book that trip for early next year to ensure we don’t waste our air-miles as they expire this year.
We’ll be blogging as we go on all these trips, and we’ll be sharing our tips, tricks, reviews and stories from along the way.
Vicky & Adam
